Unless you need 42 MP for Portraits the a7ii is fine. I use Batis 85, Leica 75 and Batis 135 on the Sony's for Candid portraits. If I am shooting a Sony as walkabout the 35 f2.8, Batis 25 , VM 15 f4.5 or even a 50mm. Everyone has their own way of shooting. I just find my a7ii and a7rii just slow in operation.
